10 days!

Hey All!

We are in the home stretch now...10 days (almost 9!) and I cannot believe the wedding is almost here. We are finishing up the final things, small details and last minute problems we encounter, and counting down as our wedding approaches. No real news to update you with- but keep checking back as I will continue to update...

Take Care and we look forward to seeing you!

Happy August!!

Hey Everyone.
Well that countdown is on, 15 days until Lawrence and I tie the know! I cannot believe that it was 9 months ago when I started planning this wedding and now it is all falling into place and happening...NOW. I really don't have that much to report, but I will share a few details.

1. My hair & make-up trial are this weekend. Tomorrow afternoon is an afternoon of beauty. I'm quite looking forward to it.
2. My STAGETTE is tomorrow evening/night. I'm going to be all pretty'd up (hair & make-up) so it is going to be AWESOME. My bridesmaids have been planning like crazy for tomorrow night's festivities so I'm definately looking forward to the party. I'll post pictures and such when I have them...providing they are PG-rated.
3. Lawrence and I had some Engagement Photos done. His sister Kim took some amazing photos of us at Elbow Falls last weekend. I'm so impressed with them, I'll post a few at the end of this post.
4. I pick up my dress on MONDAY!! All the alterations are finished and it should fit me like a glove. I CANNOT wait to see it again. Funny...I miss my dress!

Well that is about all for now. I will try to update as often as I can within these next 2 weeks, but things are pretty busy and crazy around here-- I'll do my best.
Enjoy the pictures,
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

Those are a few of my favorites!

A Ton of UPDATES!!

Hey All!!
We hope everyone is doing well. Lawrence and I are, no surprise here, as busy as ever. Between working and planning a wedding there is hardly time for anything else. We are not complaining though, only 34 more days until we are Mr. & Mrs.!! HURRAY!! Well, I guess that is enough banter, here's what's been going on....

  • I received my acceptance letter from the Education Faculty at the University of Lethbridge, which means my dream of becoming a teacher is finally coming true. I have my first orientation on September 4 (4 days after we move) and then only a year and a half (hopefully) left on my degrees. I also was approved for Student Loans which is definitely a good/great thing.
  • My bridal showers have come and gone. A surprise shower was held for me July8 and I honestly had no idea about it. Sneaky Sneaky! It was great fun and I got a ton of wonderful presents from all the amazing ladies in my life. My other planned shower was July14 and was just as wonderful as the surprise one. We played some games and ate some great food. My MOH did a great job organizing with my Mom and we all had a wonderful time. My family from Kelowna sent out a whole load of gifts which I had no idea about...and it was great to get them and to know they wished they could be there. Again, I received some wonderful gifts which I really appreciate. I think (with the exception of a few items) I have a fully functional kitchen as of now.
  • Lawrence bought his wedding day attire. A handsome Ralph Lauren suit and a french cuff shirt. My guy is going to look HOT on our wedding day. We still have a few items left to buy for him, but for the most part, he's ready to go. Hopefully he will be able to wear a pair of my late Grandfathers cuff links, which would really mean a lot to me.
  • We also have gotten our Marriage Licence as of 4:30pm yesterday. Just looking at it makes all this wedding business seem much more real. I see the place where I'm supposed to sign and I think, "when I sign that I'll be a Mrs's!" It's just very neat now that things are coming together.
  • We bought our cake cutting set. I know this is a really small almost unimportant item, but my Mom couldn't find the one she used on her wedding day, so we decided to get our own. It's a lovely set and I'm very excited about it.
  • Our RSVP date has come and gone. We received a lot of replies- which pleased me muchly. A few more people said NO then we were anticipating, but hey- that happens. We look forward to seeing all you YES people at the wedding.
  • My Second Dress fitting is on Thursday July26. I am very excited about this because my dress will actually FIT me. We bought it off the rack, so it was a few sizes to big- but now with all the alterations it should fit me life a glove. I'm quite excited about it. After this fitting I'll have one more. She won't finish the hem until after Thursday fitting (just to make sure it all works) and then we'll get it about 2 weeks before the wedding.
  • On a much sadder note, I would also like to mention the passing of Lawrence's Grandfather on July11 2007. He was a wonderful man, and I feel honoured to have known him. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and acquaintances. Although he won't be at our wedding, we know that he will be watching over us on our special day. We Love You Grandpa and Miss You!!

Well that is all the updates folks. Sorry that I've been slacking in the blogging department. I'll try to keep things updated more often.
Keep checking back-- only 34 more days!

Love,
Erin and Lawrence

BC Tour!

Hey Everyone!!!

Lawrence and I returned to Calgary Sunday night after 4 very eventful days in Beautiful British Columbia. As I think I mentioned before, we headed to Kelowna and Kamloops so that Lawrence could meet more of my family before the wedding. We had a great time despite the weather (it rained and was cloudy most days) and even though we couldn't make it to the beach, we still had a great time. I'm pleased that Lawrence could meet some of my family- he fit in which was just AWESOME! They all loved him too!
Here are some photos!

Well those are some of the pictures that we took on our BC Tour-- as you can see, we had a great time.
As for Wedding Updates this is the news:
1. Going for my first Dress Fitting on Thursday!! I'm so VERY excited about it!
2. Decided on centrepieces and my Auntie C has kindly offered to assemble them (which ROCKS my world).
3. All the shower invitations have been sent out-- so my MOH and my Mom are waiting for replies and I'm waiting for July 14th (shower date...)

In other news:
Lawrence and I are proud to tell you about the newest member of the Bolokoski clan. Lawrence's sister Kimmy gave birth to a baby boy this morning at 9:00am (our first Nephew). He weighed 9lbs 5oz and measured in at 21 inches. We are so excited to meet this little boy tomorrow-- it is just so amazing that he is now here, in the flesh...Congrats Kimmy and Jordan!!!

Well that's all I got folks...keep checking back- lots of little jobs to do and only...66 days to do them!

New Song

I heard this song on the radio this morning- and I fell in love with it. I thought I would post it here because I said I would be changing the songs. It's called Stolen and it is by Dashboard Confessionals.
I hope you all enjoy it!

Some more news...

Hey All!
78 days until the wedding! Woohoo! I can't believe it is so SOON! The time is literally flying by- and I still have so much to do (despite what my Mom says!).
I'm sure everyone has received their invitations by now...and I am eagerly awaiting RSVPs. The wait actually physically hurts. I check the phone messages and the e-mail everyday--so come on please REPLY! (LOL).
The shower date has been set for July 14 2007. For those who are invited, you will be getting invitations delivered or in the mail within the next week. I'm super stoked about it. Even though I am not 'planning' my shower, I've still been quite involved, which is how I like it.
Lawrence and I are heading out to B.C. next week to visit my family in Kelowna and Kamloops. We figured it would be a good idea for him to meet some of the out of town guests so that the wedding won't be that much more overwhelming. At least we will get the initital introductions done before the big day.
Well, that's about all I got right now. I just wanted to touch base and let everyone know that things are still progressing.
Here's the most recent picture of Lawrence and I. Enjoy~

Double Digits!

Well folks-- we've begun the BIG countdown (well I have). We are officially into the double digits...98 days until Lawrence and I get married. The number still seems so big, but I know that it will fly by. We've already been home for a month- but it certainly hasn't felt that long. Nothing really has happened since my pervious post...wedding related, but I would like to share some information about our registery. Lawrence and I have finished registering. We are registered at both Sears (http://www.giftregistry.sears.ca/gift/egrSearch002.jsp) and at Linen-N-Things (http://www.lnt.com/registry/index.jsp). Just type in either Lawrence's name or my name (first and last), and you should have no problem finding our registery.
As some of you may have noticed- I've added some music to our website. It actually really excites me that I'm finally figuring out how to do things on here. The song is "Here in your arms" by a group called Hellogoodbye. It's one of my personal favourites right now. Expect it to change frequently...just another reason to stop by and check out the site. If you don't have windows media player, you can download it here (http://www.download-all-area.com/windowsmediaplayer/). Hope you enjoy the song.
Abe is doing great- he's got his first post-adoption vet visit this Thursday just to make sure that everything is how it should be. I was over visiting him on Thursday night- and he is BY FAR the sweetest, cuddliest cat I've ever met. He really likes to be pet- definately an attention seeker...remind you of anyone?? (lol). He's also registered in the Petlynx program which is a catfinder...in case he gets out and gets lost. I just wanted to let you all know that he is doing great and that I have another picture for you.
Abe chillin' at Lawrence's house.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be updating next weekend after the invitations go out.
Have a great long weekend!
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

Meet our new addition....

Hey everyone...
Sorry about the lack of post as of late. I have been so busy that I haven't had time for much. Lawrence and I are both working 2 jobs, which leaves very little time for other things. I would however, like to give you a few updates about the wedding:
1. We have a place to live in Lethbridge next year. I put a deposit down on a 2 room townhouse on the west side (pretty close to the University) so we are really excited about that. It really makes things seem more real...we actually have a place of our own...!
2. Invitations are ready to go. In fact a few have already gone out. The overseas ones were sent out a few weeks ago, and the rest of them are going out on my birthday (May 27)- so I'm really looking forward to that. Watch your mailboxes and RSVP fast!
3. Hair trial and Make-up trial appointments have been made. Also, my day of hair and make-up appointments have been made. I'm really glad that we got that all figured out-- less stress for moi!
4. I have scheduled my first dress fitting for June 21 at 6:00pm. I'm so really looking forward to this...woot woot!
Other then that, I have very little news on the wedding...only 101 days left! We are almost at the double digits!
Now I would like to introduce you to our newest addition. Lawrence and I have adopted a cat from the Calgary Humane Society. He is a 3 year old brown tabby named Abe. He is the sweetest little cat I've ever met, and he will be a great addition to our little family. He is going to be living with Lawrence over the summer, and will move to Lethbridge with us when we move down in September. He is a tad overweight (just over 11 lbs) but will loose that now that he is free to roam. Anywayz-- enough talk...lets see some pictures!

Abe checking out my room Monday afternoon...

Abe watching the birds outside my window...

Abe enjoying the breeze...

Well thanks for stopping by folks. Keep checking back- I will try to update more often. Time is starting to fly by- and before we know it, it will be wedding time.
We hope everyone is doing fine...keep checking back!
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

A few updates...

Well-- we are HOME from school!! HURRAY!! I'm going back tomorrow to write one more exam, and them I am done with school until it starts in September!!

I've been busy with work (started on Tuesday) and worked all week trying to get the golf course ready for open. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was against us, and dumped a whole load of snow on us so the course couldn't open. Too bad. This week will be busy- but I'm excited to be back at work. Lawrence is in the process of finding jobs. He has a few lined up right now- so that is great for him. We plan on saving a ton of money this summer...good luck!

Wedding Updates:
1. We finished our Marriage Preparation Course through Calgary Counselling Centre. It was a 2 day- 10 hour course...and I'm not sure we would have survived if our friends Tyson and his fiance Sara hadn't of been there. The course was good- but we've already discussed a lot of the things we talked about..so it wasn't as beneficial as it could have been.
2. Invitations are started. I spent all week gathering addresses, writing them out in pencil first and then re-writing them in my special pen. They look fabulous! Dad and I printed off all the invitations and RSVPs today and they look AMAZING!! I cannot wait to start decorating them. They will look incredible.
3. We've looked at bedroom furniture and have picked out the set that we want. It's at Ikea...and luckily for us- affordable. We are going to be buying it in pieces so that it's not so damaging on our bank accounts.

Other then that- nothing much has happened on the Wedding side of things. I have a lot left to do- hard to believe (lol) I know...but it will all get done in due time.

Anyways, we hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for summer. I'm off to finish my studying and to hit the sheets.
Take Care...

Love,
Erin and Lawrence

138 days left...

Hi all!
Where has the time gone?!?!?!?! I cannot believe that in 138 days we'll be getting married!! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter and spent some time with their families. Lawrence and I went home for Easter so it was nice to get out of town, but made us realize how much we have yet to do before the end of classes on the 16th.
Mom and I got a TON of stuff during the Michaels sale this past weekend so we are feeling good about all of our/my DIY projects for the wedding. We got some really great prices on a lot of the items that we needed.
Here is an update:
1. Both Lawrence's mom and my mom have their wedding outfits. They are gorgeous- and our moms will be glowing on our wedding day.
2. We purchased all the favour boxes-- hurray!
3. All of my bridesmaids have tried on their dresses- and they look amazing. They look so beautiful in the dresses and the colour is so complimentary. I love them!
4. Our Flowergirl has tried on her dress as well. She looked like a little princess. I cannot wait to see her in it again once we've made all the changes to it. She is going to be so cute at the wedding.
5. My mom and I made the necklace that I will be wear on our wedding day. It looks absolutely amazing. I'm glad the we were able to figure out how to make it, because I don't think we could have found exactly what I wanted.
6. We bought Lawrence's wedding tie. It is really unique and will look fabulous on him. It compliments both of our colours (green and silver) and goes nicely with the bridesmaid dresses.
7. My mom bought us a cake topper (not your traditional one, but we both love it) and we are both very excited about that. We also got a cake pedestal that we will use to put our wedding cake on. My parents gave that to us as our Easter present.

Well, I guess that is about it for now. As soon as school is done, I'll be able to get a move on some things. I have yet to make the invitations, but that is #1 on the list of things to do once we get back to Calgary.
We hope everyone is doing fine and we hope you will keep checking back. Updates will become more frequent once school is done.
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

More News!!

Hey Everyone,
I apologise that updates have been few and far between this last little while. Schools been kicking me in the butt- so I've been really trying to focus 100% on getting everything done and making it to April 16 (last day of classes)! My fingers have also proved to be an obstacle, one that I've learned to deal with. The last splint comes off tomorrow...so hopefully things are healed. My fingers are still pretty bruised, but I need to start moving them so they don't cease.
Anyways, onto more exciting wedding news!
1. We have both of our wedding bands. We went and picked mine up last week (HURRAY) and we plan on getting them engraved ASAP by a guy here in Lethbridge. We are both really excited about our wedding bands, and cannot wait until we get to wear them forever.
2. The Bridesmaid Dresses are IN!! Yey!! We ordered them about 2 and a half months ago, and I wasn't expecting them until mid-April, BUT THEY ARE IN, and Mom is going to pick them up on Saturday. Since we are going home for Easter, the girls and I are going to get together on the Thursday night to have a little trying-on-dresses party. I really can't wait to see them on in the right colour! Now that we have the dresses we will be able to get all the colour things in order (eg: Ties, ribbon, paper etc...) and I'm really looking forward to that!
3. We've decided on the favours. They are going to be a lot of work- but they are totally going to be worth it. I would love to tell you what they are, but that would spoil the surprise. Looks like you'll have to come to the wedding to see what they are!

Well, that is all folks. I have to head off to class now, but I wanted to update because it had been so long. I'll probably post something more after Easter...in the mean time..
Take Care,
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

NEWS!!

Hi Everyone!
Hope all is going well in your neck of the woods. Things here have been rocky the last couple days. For those who don't know- on Wednesday I broke my ring and middle fingers on my left (wedding) hand. Luckily I got my engagement ring off before my ring finger puffed up like a balloon. There was no way they were going to be cutting that ring off!! It has been a fairly painful ordeal, especially straightening my fingers to put them in the splint, and the hole in my nail to relieve the pressure. The throbbing has continued but it much less today then it was Wednesday night. I'm finding it difficult to do everyday things like doing my hair and putting deodorant on. Luckily I've got a great guy by my side- helping me along. Seriously though- not every guy would take you to the hospital in Raymond at 9:30pm on a school night! ha ha. He's been helping out a lot- pretty much doing my dishes-- which are nearly impossible to do with a splint on. I'll probably have these splints on for about 3 weeks-- so it could get interesting.
Other then that- school is going fine, almost done- just a few (5) more weeks to go! Lawrence and I are both looking forward to this. As for wedding things, we are still trying to decide on favours. It is proving to be quite difficult we both want something different. We'll just have to wait and see how things go.
I'll post a picture of my splints-- my poor big swollen hand. ha ha!

Take Care Everyone!

Erin and Lawrence

Hey Everyone!
Well this morning was quite a productive morning. We had no intentions of doing anything wedding related- but we actually got a lot accomplished.
1. I returned my first pair of wedding shoes (they were not white enough) and bought a new pair. I like these ones a lot. They are so PRETTY!
2. We bought my wedding band. It is currently on Lay-away so we can pay it off in intervals and the jewelery store will just keep it until we pay for it all. My friend Jenn works at Ben Moss and she gave us a sweet deal- which is GREATLY appreciated. Kudos Jenn!
3. We found our cake topper. We both wanted something unique and "us". Neither of us really like the 'traditional' bride and groom cake toppers, so when we found this one- we both loved it. It is by Kim Lawrence (ha ha) and it's from a collection called Circle of Love. The figurine/cake topper that we picked is called "Kiss". It is so pretty. It's not very tall so it will fit perfectly on top of the cake, AND we can still incorporate the flowers, AND it is white so it will match the cake.
4. We also picked out our song for the first dance. It's so perfect and I'm happy that we finally agree on a song. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait to the wedding to find out what it is.
I'm really pleased with how things are working out. We hope things are going well with all our family and friends.
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

Updates!

Hey Everyone,
Sorry that it has taken me so long to finally update. Between the show, midterms and packing, it seemed that Lawrence and I had very little time for anything else. We are just finishing up our Reading Week, which was a welcome relief for both of us. Unfortunately I've been sick with Strep throat and now a cold, so I haven't been able to do as much wedding stuff as I had initially wanted. However, I would like to tell everyone that we have now officially registered. YEY! We are registered at Sears, so you can access our registry via the Internet (www.sears.ca) by just searching my name, or you can access it in any Sears store across Canada. There are still a few items that are not on our list yet- but we will be updated as often as we can. I am also going to be registering at Linen&Things, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.
I would also just like to say that in 6 months-- exactly 6 months today Lawrence and I will be getting married. It seemed like just yesterday we were getting engaged and had to wait 9 months. Suddenly 3 months are gone-- and August is approaching quickly.
I hope everything is going well with all of our family and friends. We look forward to seeing you in August, or sooner.
Love,
Erin and Lawrence
PS: I've posted a picture of us. Hope you enjoy.

6 months 3 weeks to go...

Where has the time gone?! I can hardly believe that it is February already! Before we know it, it will be wedding time! So- I have a few updates:

1. We've chosen our Wedding Bands. Lawrence's ring has already been bought. His was on sale and we wanted to make sure he got the ring that he really wanted. Mine is a fairly common ring, so we can wait until we have a little more money before we buy it.
2. I've also made some music selections. The ceremony music is pretty much decided upon, but we still need to make up our minds on some of the reception things, but for the most part it is done.
3. We've registered in a pre-marital class. We both thought this was SUPER important, so we've gone ahead and booked it. As soon as school is done, we will be in class for marriage. It's a 2 day course- and I'm *surprisingly* looking forward to it.

I think that is all that I have for now. Over reading week, I plan on doing quite a few things, so keep checking back.
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

Wedding News!

Hey All!
Well, after spending this past weekend in Calgary doing ONLY wedding things, I have a few updates:
1. We have the invitations. I changed my mind from the original ones that we picked out- but this time we have the perfect ones. They are going to be beautiful.
2. I've decided on a decorator. We met with this lady this weekend who has awesome decorations for really really decent prices. She gave us (mom and I) a TON of ideas, and with everything being so inexpensive, we've decided to make a few decoration changes. All I can say is, it is going to be beautiful.
3. I've booked the florist. After thinking about the pros and cons of each company--I decided to go with the Florist that is right by where I live. They do one delivery (which will be nice for Lawrence and his family) and then my Dad or Kevin will pick up all the bouquets and bring them to our place. The ladies there are just so nice, and I know I made the right decision.
4. I also met with a Cake Lady this weekend. She is the sweetest thing ever. She is a little old lady who does wedding cakes out of her home. She listened to exactly what I wanted, and it giving us a really decent price, and she is going to deliver the cake and set it up for us. Like everything else...it is going to be beautiful.
5. We got the Bridesmaid dresses this weekend. They are GORGEOUS! Enough said. The girls are going to look so beautiful...I'm just so happy.
6. My friend Rene is going to be doing the DJing for us. I'd asked him over Christmas if he would be willing to do it, and he wasn't sure at the time. After attending the Bridal Show yesterday and seeing how expensive DJ's were, I called him last night and he pretty much said, "I'll do it call me in 3 months!" What a great guy. I totally trust his song judgement, and I know he will do a great job.
7. Mom, Kathleen, Alanna, Lindsey and myself also hit up the Bridal Fair this weekend. It was really fun and interesting to see all the different wedding ideas and such. We got to sample some cake, and watch a fashion show. By the end of the 3 hours I was, "tuckered" out. All the girls got, "I work for Bridezilla" stickers. Personally, I don't think I'm that bad...I mean, I could always be worse! Anyway- we all had a great time, and I walked away with a HUGE bag full of brochures and coupons. All in all, it was a great day.
Well, that is pretty much it. Things are really falling into place. I'm really quite impressed (as are a lot of people) that I have so much done already. But what can I say, I'm really organized and I'm really excited!
That is all for now. Keep checking back-
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

Words

Hey Everyone!
Nothing new has happened since the last post, but as the days tick by, I am getting more excited. Today I was looking at Wedding Vows- wow, talk about emotional. I was getting all teary just reading them- imagine what will happen when I actually have to speak! We are meeting with a Bishop at Lawrence's chruch on January 20th, so I'm hoping to have a template of the ceremony worked out so that I can show him what we would like. I am also in the process of trying to find someone to do the cake. I know before I said that my friend's Dad was going to do it, unfortunately that won't be happening, so I'm desperately trying to find someone else. No worries though! I've also started looking into the "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" thing. It is proving to be a little more challenging then I had initally thought. I have the "something old" and the "something new". The "something blue" is covered by the garder- but the borrowed thing is difficult. I must think on it some more...I'm sure something will appear.
Well that is all for now I guess. More to come...keep checking back!

Erin and Lawrence

Happy 2007 Everyone!

Happy New Years everyone! We hope everyone had an great Christmas and an exciting New Years. Lawrence and I had about 2 1/2 weeks off and most of it was spent relaxing and hanging out with our families. New Years was spent running an 8km resolution run then enjoying some family, friends and games. It was really nice- a really great way to spend Christmas holidays. We headed back to Lethbridge yesterday and school started today...so we are back in the swing of things.
Now-- onto some Wedding Stuff!
As I wrote before Christmas, we secured a venue at Heritage Park. We went to the '12 Days of Christmas', and Lawrence got to look around an see where we will be getting married. Exciting! We also met with a photographer, loved her work and booked her to do our wedding. We are both very excited about it. My mom and I also went and looked at wedding dresses, which was quite overwhelming. Trying on all sorts of beautiful dresses, and seeing myself as a bride was pretty emotional. Kathleen (my maid of honour) came out with us one day and we tried on a few dresses and made a few decisions. I've also met with two florists and am still waiting to hear back from one. Hopefully I will be able to make a decision within the next few weeks. I want to get that booked pretty quick here. The cake is taken care of as well. My friend Ashley's Dad is going to be doing it for us. I'm really excited because I've seen what he does for her birthday cakes, I just cannot wait to see the wedding cake! We (my mom, wedding party and myself) will be going to the Bridal Fair in Calgary on the 21st, and I am so excited about it. It will be a day of wedding stuff!
Well that is all for now. I have to take a tad break from Wedding things and focus on my school. Getting a lot done over Christmas was my plan so that I could focus this semester and keep my GPA at a good level so that I can get into the Education Faculty.
I plan on updating this regularily so keep checking back-

Happy New Year!
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

PS: 232 days until we get hitched!!!
