Hey All,
Well we've made the decision to get married at the Wainwright Hotel in Heritage Park. The ceremony will take place outside (weather permitting) and the reception will follow almost immediately in the hotel. It is a really beautiful and historical place, and I am so pleased that we are getting married there. It is going to be a late afternoon, early evening wedding, with a reception and dance to follow. I am so excited and relived to have a venue for both the ceremony and reception booked. I was getting kind of anxious when I knew the church wasn't going to happen, but now that things are booked, I'm feeling fine.
I've also been searching for a photographer, and lucky me- I've found 2 that are available on August 25th. We are going to be meeting with them shortly after Christmas, and booking one immediately. I've also looked for a few florists and am hoping to make some appointments after Christmas as well. As for my dress, mom and I are going to go scope out a few places after Christmas and see what I like...etc etc. Looks like Christmas is going to be BUSY!
I'm heading back to Lethbridge this weekend to write my final exam and to spend some time with my guy. We are both feeling really lonely- we are not used to being apart for so long.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
Erin and Lawrence

Meeting today!
Home for the Holidays! Well, at least I am. Poor Lawrence is stuck in Lethbridge just a little while longer to write his exams, then he'll be home. My mom and I are going to check out the first venue today. I am really excited about this one, and hope that it works out. As of right now, it is not going to be a church wedding- so we are also looking for ceremony locations. Hopefully this first place we look at will be able to accommodate everything. I plan on making my final decision by Wednesday night- so check back on Thursday to find out where we are going to be getting married.
Love,
Erin and Lawrence.

Decisions...
What a week it has been. So much excitement let me tell you. With the engagement and the end of school, the excitement and stress doesn't seem to end. We've decided to get married in Calgary and now comes the part of trying to find a venue available on our day. We are in the process of trying to find venues for the ceremony and for the reception. Currently, I've got 2 places tentatively booked. I just need to wait until I get back to Calgary so that I can go take a look and make the final decisions.
That is about all I have right now- check back next week for updates on the venues.

Our Engagement
Our Engagement
November 25, 2006
As planned we were heading out to go Christmas Shopping. I didn’t want to go up to his apartment because it was cold outside and my car door was frozen shut. I complained a bit, but decided to go anyway. I was sitting in his living room watching The Food Network, enjoying the show—when he comes out of his room carrying some Jewelry cleaner. He came over to me and told me that my promise ring was looking tarnished and needed to be cleaned. I was kind of taken aback and slightly offended and was about to tell him about it, when he reached into his pocket, pulled out a ring box, and said, “OR you could clean this ring. Will you marry me?” Now I had just taken a bite of my granola bar, so I had a mouthful of food. I screamed a little, and of course said yes (otherwise what would be the point of this e-mail) and we both sat on the couch shaking and smiling ear to ear. We called our parents to share the news, cried a little, then headed out for our morning of Christmas Shopping. That is our story. Talk about a surprise!
